Switzerland

Switzerland, right in the center of Europe and with short distance access to all important european markets, but still not member of the EU has several advantages for investors. Switzerland is one of the most stable jurisdictions worldwide - since centuries. There is a known stable currency, an attractiv tax law and a great environment for business activities besides quality of life. Switzerland made several bilateral agreements with the European Union which ease splitted european business activities - headquarters in Switzerland with optional branches in EU countries.

Swiss employees are best possible educated in business administration and technologies, very often speaking three or more european languages and well motivated while labour costs are not as high as one would estimate. In Switzerland there are many european headquarters from european companies located - as well as many companies from abroad for the same reasons.

Especially in case there are no other investments done in Europe, Switzerland should be listed on the short list of jurisdictions for european direct investments. A well planned agenda when founding european branches is important to get finally an optimized structure as combination of all possible advantages. The most important point with this topic is early and solid planning of european activities in general.

Within Switzerland, though it is small, there are 26 different cantons which differ not only in questions of taxes and mostly spoken language but also in questions of many other location qualities. Even within Switzerland early planning is demanded in case of investment ideas.
