Strategic Alliance in motorbikes: Austrian KTM & Indian Bajaj
Another strategic alliance between European and Indian producers proves it's benefits. Bajaj, indian motorbike producer meanwhile is a major shareholder of KTM, the austrian producer breaking the market trends.
The new KTM X-Box
KTM ever has been well known as a producer of pretty special motorbikes, especially in the Enduro class. Even KTM tumbled into a heavy crisis in the 90ies, the lable is up again since various years and attacking competitors through better knowledge of the market and superior technology. The small firm meanwhile entered the market for road bikes and KTM won a first comparison test against strong competitors such as bavarian BMW and italian Ducati. KTM grows in a decending market and meanwhile is number two behind BMW on the european motorcycle market. The latest KTM product is the 'X-Bow', a sport car, originally constructed as a racing car, of only 750kg and at 100km/h within only 4 seconds.
The austrian-indian partnership now created new motorbike models in the the 125 and 250 class with european technology and production plants in India. Market launch will be in 2009.
